Division is fair sharing or equal grouping. Deal the biggest crates first: hundreds, then tens, then ones. A leftover in one place is traded down into the next place — 1 hundred = 10 tens, 1 ten = 10 ones. Check by multiplying back: quotient × divisor + remainder = dividend. And the remainder means different things in different stories: round up (need one more van), drop it (only whole boxes count), or report it (leftover pieces).
