Every area formula is a cutting story — a triangle is HALF a rectangle, which is why the ½ is in the formula. The height is measured straight up (perpendicular), never along a slant. Volume fills the inside (cubic units); surface area covers the outside (square units) — a box wears 6 faces, in 3 matching pairs. Count them all.
