How to Add a Hidden URL Resource in Sleedu (Teachers Only)
Link a Google Drive file — like a participation log or gradebook tracker — inside your Sleedu course so you and your co-teachers can open it in one click, while it stays completely invisible to students.
Why do this? Teachers often keep working documents — daily participation logs, seating charts, intervention notes — in Google Drive. Adding them as a hidden URL resource turns your Sleedu course page into your teacher dashboard: everything you need lives in one place, but students only see what’s meant for them.
1Find your file in Google Drive
Open Google Drive and locate the file you want to link. In this example, it’s a Google Sheets participation log called Chemistry 1st Quarter. Click the file once to select it.

2Copy the link
With the file selected, look at the toolbar near the top of Drive and click the Copy link icon (the chain link). The link is now on your clipboard.
Tip: If other teachers will open this file, make sure the file’s sharing settings in Drive include them. Since the resource will be hidden in Sleedu, students never see the link at all — but keeping Drive sharing restricted adds a second layer of privacy.
Click the Copy link icon in the Drive toolbar.
3Turn on Edit mode and add an activity
In your Sleedu course, turn on Edit mode (top-right toggle). Go to the section where you want the link — the General section at the top works well for teacher tools. Click the + button and choose Activity or resource.
Click the + button in your section, then choose Activity or resource.
4Choose the URL resource
In the activity chooser, select URL. This resource type simply points to an outside link — perfect for Google Drive files.
Select the URL resource from the activity chooser.
5Name it and paste your link
On the New URL page:
• Name: give it a clear title, such as 1st Quarter Participation Log.
• External URL: paste the Google Drive link you copied in Step 2.
Scroll down and click Save and return to course.
Enter a clear name and paste the Google Drive link into External URL.
6Hide it from students
Back on the course page, find your new URL resource. Click the three-dot menu on its right side and choose Hide. That’s the whole trick — one click.
Open the three-dot menu and click Hide.
7Confirm the “Hidden from students” badge
The resource now shows a gray Hidden from students badge. Teachers and co-teachers enrolled in the course can still see and click the link — students cannot see it at all, not even a grayed-out title. Your participation log is now one click away every time you open your course.
The Hidden from students badge confirms only teachers can see the link.
