Enroll Your Students: Edit Your Period Enrollment Keys

Sleedu for Middle & High School Teachers — Start Here

Enrolling Your Classes with Enrolment Keys

Your course already has a separate group for every class period — Period 0 through Period 7 — plus Accommodation and Support Teacher groups. You don’t add students one by one. Instead, each period has its own enrolment key (a simple password), and when a student enters the key for their period, Sleedu drops them into the right group automatically. Your job is just to set or check the key for each period, then hand each class their key.

1

Open the Groups page

  1. Open your course.
  2. Click the Participants tab.
  3. On the Participants page, click the dropdown at the top left that says Enrolled users.
  4. Under the Groups heading, choose Groups.

You’ll see the list of groups — one per period, plus Accommodation and Support Teacher.

2

Edit the key for a period

  1. In the Groups list, click the period you want (for example, Period 3).
  2. Click Edit group settings (under “With selected”).
  3. Find the Enrolment key field at the top of the settings page.
  4. Type the key (password) you want that class to use. Keep it simple but not guessable — e.g. chem-p3-2026.
  5. Click Save changes.

Note: Repeat this for each period you teach.
3

Give each class their key

Hand each class only their period’s key:

  • Write it on the board on day one
  • Put it in your syllabus
  • Post it in your school’s messaging system
Tip: Tell students to: log in to Sleedu → find your course → enter the key when prompted. That’s all they do.
4

Confirm students landed in the right period

  1. Go back to Participants.
  2. Open the same dropdown and choose Groups — the same page from Step 1.
  3. Watch the counts climb as students enroll — Period 3 (0) becomes Period 3 (28).
Wrong period? If a student used the wrong key and landed in the wrong period, you can move them here: click the correct period, click Add/remove users, and move them over.

That’s it — your students are enrolled. Next up: activating your gradebook for your first unit.
