REMEMBER: A scale factor multiplies every length โ€” never add it. Lengths grow by k, but area grows by k ร— k. The two shortest sides of a triangle must together out-reach the longest. A cross-section is the flat shape where a slice meets a solid.

Scale drawing
A drawing that shows a real object with every length shrunk (or grown) by the same factor.
Scale factor
The multiplier between drawing and real life. At 1 cm : 4 m, every drawn centimeter stands for 4 real meters.
Triangle Inequality Rule
The two shorter sides of a triangle must add to MORE than the longest side โ€” or they can't reach across to close it.
Unique triangle
Conditions that force exactly one triangle. Three fixed side lengths do this โ€” every builder gets the same shape.
Cross-section
The flat, 2-D shape you see where a plane slices through a solid โ€” like the face of a cut sandwich.
Prism
A solid with two identical parallel bases and flat sides. It's the same size all the way up โ€” no tapering.
Pyramid
A solid with one base whose sides rise to meet at a single point (the apex). It shrinks as it climbs.
Plane
A perfectly flat surface, like an endless sheet of glass. Slicing a solid means passing a plane through it.
