Exceptions are made for students with medical needs or those without a phone— they can lock other distracting items instead. Extra pouches can be obtained from the  Library if needed.
  • Step 2: Collection and Accountability: After school, sixth-period teachers unlock and collect the pouches for the next day. Students responsible for lost or damaged pouches are subject to fines or other interventions.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Pouch Transfer: Nearby teachers without a sixth period pick up the pouches from teachers without a first period. If it’s not possible, campus supervisors can quickly do it before school starts.
MTSS Tier 2 and Tier 3 Interventions
  • Tier 2: For minor infractions, devices are locked in Tier 2 Orange Safe Pouches, and students unlock them from the Main Office after school.
  • Tier 3: Repeated offenders have their phones confiscated and returned only to their parents.

  • Positive Reinforcement: The Tier 2 Orange Safe Pouches serve as a constructive alternative to suspension for minor infractions, aligning with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
