Create Bell Quiz and Override Open And Close Automatically
To create a quiz and set it to automatically open and close, follow these steps:
- Log in to access the course where you want to create the quiz.
- In the course, go to the “Quizzes” section and click on the “Add an activity or resource” button.
- Select “Quiz” from the list of activities and click on the “Add” button.
- Fill out the required information for the quiz, such as the name, description, and due date.
- In the “Question bank” section, click on the “Add a question” button to add questions to the quiz. You can choose from a variety of question types, such as multiple choice, short answer, and essay.
- In the “Quiz settings” section, specify the settings for the quiz, such as the number of attempts, time limit, and grading method.
- In the “Timing” section, you can set the quiz to automatically open and close at specific dates and times. To do this, select the “Open the quiz” and “Close the quiz” options and enter the dates and times for when you want the quiz to be available.
- In the “Question behavior” section, set the options for how questions will be presented to students, such as the number of questions per page, whether to show the correct answer after each question, and how feedback will be given.
- In the “Overall feedback” section, you can provide feedback for different grade ranges, such as high scores, average scores, and low scores.
- Save the quiz by clicking on the “Save and display” button.
Now, students can take the quiz only during the time period specified in the “Timing” section. The quiz will automatically close at the specified time, and students will not be able to access it outside of the specified time period.
To add group overrides for a quiz, follow these steps:
- Log in access the course where the quiz is located.
- Go to the quiz activity and click on the “Edit quiz” button.
- Scroll down to the “Quiz overrides” section.
- Click on the “Add group override” button.
- Select the group for which you want to create the override.
- In the “Timing” section, you can set different dates and times for when the quiz will be available for this group. You can also specify different time limits for this group.
- In the “Attempts allowed” section, you can specify a different number of attempts for this group.
- In the “Grade” section, you can specify a different grade for this group.
- Click on the “Save changes” button to save the override.
- Repeat the steps 4-9 for each group you want to create an override for.
Now, students in each group will have access to the quiz based on the overrides you created. When a student is in multiple groups, the most permissive override will be applied to the student.
