What will schools look like when they open? Cell phones will affect students’ learning.

As COVID-19 pandemic slows down with preventive measures, children are returning to classrooms having lost their learning due to ineffective remote learning and long summer.

According to state guidelines, children may be returning to classes where students are expected to be isolated from each other. With students having to be at least six feet a part, it will be a challenge for teachers to engage all students in class. One of the most difficult challenges would be having students off their cell phones. At first, teachers may think that it is easier to manage students when there are few students. With all students spread far apart; however, it’s even more challenging for teachers because students will entertain themselves with social media. When students are far apart, they can easily hide their phones and interact with social media. For some districts, half of students are at home; therefore, a lot of students are home having nothing to do at home. These two groups of students will use their cell phones to interact during class times. Without affecting and flexible phone-free policies, both teachers and administrators are constantly facing this losing battle against cell phone usage. Because of possible legal liabilities and theft, administrators and teachers could not implement and enforce any effective cell phone policies and guidelines.

As current teachers, we designed Safe Pouches to allow teachers and admins to have students put a phone inside,  and students need a specialized magnet to remove the phone. Students keep their phones with them inside the pouches at their desks, teachers don’t have touch or keep students’ phones.

Safe Pouches can be used in classrooms with little risk of spreading COVID-19 when implementing strategies based on the stability of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) on different surfaces1

Safe Pouches keep students connected with multiple openings for voice-commands during emergencies.

Safe Pouches are very affordable, and you can lease for individual teachers without having to lease for the entire school. The more pouches you lease, the more you will save.

Parents can purchase Safe Pouches to use at homes to support their children at affordable prices exclusively for parents only.
